Just Released: The Third Edition of “Caring for Our Children"

The National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education has released the third edition of “Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards; Guidelines for Early Care and Education Programs.”

The publication provides important information for child care providers. It covers such topics as:
New standards on physical activity and limiting screen time
Updated standards on nutrition
Suggestions for disaster planning, inclusion/exclusion criteria for illness and use of non-toxic substances

The publication also contains valuable new appendices that include a signs and symptoms chart and a medication administration packet.
